The Real Cause of Weight Gain

Why do I still struggle with food issues 18 years after going raw? I lost about 45 lbs. in the first few months of being a raw vegan. 18 years later I’ve put back on about 15 of those pounds, which isn’t bad, considering I’m now 43, have had 5 children, home-school and run a business. Also I’ve built some muscle, which weighs quite a bit more than fat. But what I don’t like is my often erratic relationship with food.

Creating Something to Look Forward To

As I mentioned in my last post, I was allowing myself some cooked foods on occasion but then noticed some food addictions creeping back in to my life. Well, now I’m finding a new way to come back to a healthy path with eating. When I crave something I know isn’t good for me right now, I just put it off.

Addictions and Tricks of the Mind

To go raw and stay 100% raw I had to learn all my little mind-tricks that I play on myself. I learned these first when I quit smoking at 24. I started smoking at 14, and it took me years of trying to quit smoking to learn all the little tricks that I would play on myself to get myself to start up again. But when I got wise to them once, I wouldn’t fall for them again.

What is the Garden Diet?

There are a huge number of different variations on the raw vegan diet theme! On what I call the Social Raw scene you’ve got the Raw Restaurant foods (which often include some cooked condiments), the dehydrated Raw Packaged foods, the Raw Cacao craze, the Gourmet Raw foods, and the “Superfoods” – powders and potions and dried stuffs with a long shelf life, which are not fresh foods.

The Quantum Case for the Raw Vegan Diet

If indeed our thoughts create our reality, if indeed our world is shaped by our collective agreements, if indeed molecules respond to our expectations, if indeed energy can be shifted through our attention, if indeed we are co-creators of the culture on our planet as quantum physics suggests — Then would not a raw vegan world, a garden planet, be the most beautiful, idyllic, reality to co-create together?
